Leicester based Amber Valley Developments LLP has developed a monitoring system that is saving lives for drivers of ‘cabless’ construction equipment.
Named Greeneyes seatbelt monitoring – the systems are becoming widely used, especially for construction equipment where there is no cab on the vehicle and the operator can fall off, resulting in serious injury or even death.
Health and Safety officers/inspectors will be able to see if a seatbelt is being worn as the green beacon will flash. These devices are for off-highway machinery and equipment because green beacons are used on the roads by doctors.
Managing Director and designer David Morewood said, “Our Greeneyes beacon is a very low profile, single bolt fix with the power cable coming through the mounting bolt for ease of fitting. It used the same Cree XPE LEDs as used in our Alarmalight® ranges and the unit is completely sealed by sonic welding.
“We firmly believe that our ‘Greeneyes’ device is probably the most robust beacon of its kind, and will keep operators safe from accidental falls into dangerous terrain. The operation of cables equipment is particularly hazardous on construction site,” added Mr Morewood.
Amber Valley Developments will be at Cereals 2016 on 15th and 16th June at Chrishall Grange, near Duxford, Cambridgeshire.
