IOSH helps inform work health and safety debate

IOSH joined representatives of industry, trade unions and other stakeholder bodies to discuss how to deliver continued improvement in workplace health and safety across Britain.

IOSH has analysed 19 draft sector plans created by the HSE which assess current health and safety performance.

Judith McNulty-Green, IOSH’s Technical Information Manager said: “Occupational safety and health has to keep pace with change, while also being an enabler for enhanced productivity and growth.”

Comments on the HSE strategies and plans can be made on the ‘Helping Great Britain work well’ LinkedIn discussion group, and also by following #HelpGBWorkWell on social media.

The engagement event in Manchester was the final session in a series held by the HSE across Britain in March and April.

It follows work last year by the HSE – in conjunction with a wide range of stakeholders – to develop a new overarching strategy for health and safety called ‘Helping Great Britain work well’.

The HSE intends to publish final versions of the sector plans later in 2017.
